This workshop is designed for aspiring and experienced artists alike who wish to strengthen their skills in painting. It is a perfect blend of theory and practice, aimed at providing students with the essential skills to express their creativity through the timeless art of still life painting. An additional discussion will include the “rules” of art with the aim of making students more comfortable with what rules can be broken, ignored, or followed.

This workshop will get you to a beginner level in machine sewing and will open your world to design, fashion, upcycling, and repairing with fabric. Projects include: Throw Pillow Cover, Canvas Shopping Bag, Drawstring Linen Shorts/Pants & Basic Alterations.

Liberated Log Cabin | May 16-18
Using the traditional Log Cabin design as a starting point, Susan Balch will guide you through the process of working intuitively to create your own unique quilt design. This is NOT a precision technique, there are NO RULES!

Quilted Postcards | June 14
We will create 2 quilted postcards in this full-day class. Finished cards are 4"x6" and can be mailed. These make great handmade gifts for family and friends! The first card will be a pieced 3 layer birthday cake using cotton scraps for the background, cake, frosting and candle. The second card will be a raw edge appliqued flower design, using scraps.
